Terms of Service
The Civy agreement
These terms capture how Civy works, what you can expect from our team, and the responsibilities you take on while using our AI-powered career platform.
Last updated: October 31, 2025
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding contract between you and Maria Jose Gonzalez Antelo (operating CVChatly / “Civy”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, launching your AI twin, or using any Civy feature, you agree to be bound by these Terms and any policies linked here, including our Privacy Policy.
If you are using Civy on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity. All references to “you” include that entity where applicable.
2. Civy services
Civy provides tools to craft and host AI-driven career profiles, automate tailored applications, and analyze recruiter engagement. Core modules include:
- AI Career Twin — a customizable public site and conversational agent that represents your profile to visitors.
- Job Assistant — ingestion of job descriptions, recommendation of matching roles, asset generation, and optional automation of outbound applications.
- Analytics & Notifications — dashboards, visit reports, recruiter questions, and training reminders.
- Integrations — optional connections (e.g., Stripe for billing, email providers, calendar tools) to extend Civy functionality.
3. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use Civy. Accounts must include accurate personal or business details and remain secured with strong passwords.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account, including actions performed by team members with delegated access.
- Notify us at security@cvchatly.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend accounts exhibiting unusual or abusive behavior pending investigation.
- You agree not to share login credentials or bypass authentication controls.
4. Acceptable use
Civy is built to advance legitimate job-seeking and professional branding. You agree to use the services in good faith and comply with all applicable laws.
- Do not train Civy on content you lack rights to share or process.
- Do not post or disseminate harmful, discriminatory, or misleading material via your AI twin or automated outreach.
- Do not attempt to probe, scan, or reverse engineer Civy infrastructure, nor interfere with rate limits, anti-abuse, or safety systems.
- Automated job applications must be triggered intentionally by you; Civy never sends outreach without your explicit action.
5. Intellectual property
You retain ownership over content you provide to Civy. We receive a limited license to host, reproduce, transform, and display that content as required to operate the service.
Civy retains all intellectual property in the platform, including models, prompts, UI components, and documentation. You may not copy or resell Civy code, data, or design elements without permission.
6. Plans, billing, and refunds
Paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled. Subscription pricing, trials, and included usage limits are published in your billing settings or order form.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Taxes may apply depending on your billing address.
- You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the current billing period.
- New subscribers may request a one-time refund of their first paid subscription charge within 30 days of that charge if you contact support@cvchatly.com during that period and provide a brief explanation of why the service did not meet your expectations. We may decline refund requests that appear abusive (for example, repeated sign-ups and cancellations) or fall outside this window.
- Except for the 30-day money-back guarantee described above and where required by law, we do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
- We may adjust pricing or plan features with advance notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
7. Service availability & support
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance and emergency updates may cause temporary downtime.
Support is available via support@cvchatly.com and the in-product help center. Response times vary by plan.
8. Data privacy & security
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, and safeguard personal data. By using Civy you consent to these practices.
We implement layered security controls, but no system is infallible. You acknowledge that transmitting data online carries inherent risk.
9. AI outputs & disclaimers
Civy generates AI-driven recommendations, copy, and responses based on the inputs you provide. AI outputs may contain inaccuracies or biases.
You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and validating AI-generated content before relying on it. Civy is not liable for decisions based on AI suggestions.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or create legal exposure for Civy.
Upon termination we will disable access and delete or anonymize personal data according to our retention schedule. Some information may be preserved to comply with legal obligations.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Civy, its officers, directors, employees, and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of €50 or the amounts you paid to Civy in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to liability.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Berlin, unless a mandatory consumer protection rule provides otherwise.
Parties agree to attempt good-faith negotiation before pursuing litigation. Nothing prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
13. Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect new features, regulatory requirements, or business adjustments. Material changes will be announced via email or in-product notices at least 14 days in advance when possible.
Continued use after updates become effective constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with the changes, you must stop using Civy before the new Terms apply.
